CURRENT ALERT STATUS: YELLOW

Alert Status: GREEN
• Normal school operations with standard security and visitor control procedures in place

Alert Status: BLUE
• Same measures as Code Green

Alert Status: YELLOW
• Same measures as Code Blue
• Review field trip decisions
• Ensure emergency preparedness plans are up to date
• Conduct training/emergency drills as needed

Alert Status: ORANGE
In addition to the measures listed under Code Yellow, the following measures will be instituted:
• Assess increased risk with local law enforcement and public safety officials
• Review emergency preparedness plans with principals and program managers
• Review field trip decisions
• Inventory emergency supplies and equipment
• Review facility security measures and heighten building and grounds surveillance

Alert Status: RED
In addition to the measures listed under Code Orange, the following measures will be instituted:
• Assess threat level with Pierce County Emergency Management Department to determine status of school operations.
• Increase building security throughout the school district
• Restrict visitor access
• Enhance exterior security measures
• Limit parking near buildings
• Increase building and grounds surveillance
• Review crisis response plans with principals and program managers
• Test alternative communication capabilities
• Have emergency supplies positioned for ready access
• Review parent-child reunification process with principals
• Cancel field trips
• Increase staff, parent and community communication
