New Principal for Daffodil Valley Elementary effective September 2014
Sumner School District has named 3 new principals for Daffodil Valley, Maple Lawn, and Victor Falls Elementary schools and announced a new Executive Director in Human Resources. The district conducted an extensive search process fielding over 50 principal applicants, identifying candidates who were an excellent fit for each school. Superintendent, Dr. Sara Johnson, notes, "We are very pleased with the quality of the pool and believe these principals will continue to lead the schools with excellence and outstanding service to students, staff and parents."

Jane Davis-Aronson will be the new principal at Victor Falls Elementary. Jane has an outstanding reputation in our neighboring White River School District with students, parents and peers. She comes to us from Glacier Middle School where she most recently served as Vice Principal since 2011. Jane has 12 years of proven experience in effective instructional leadership.

A meet-and-greet open house with elementary families will be scheduled in May.

District Newsworthy Information

Student Registration
If you are registering your child for school during the summer months, you will need to complete a registration packet on the District Web site and turn it in to the District Office. Your child will be registered at his/her resident school according to the current school attendance boundaries. As classrooms reach capacity, your child's registration will be reviewed to determine if the resident school has capacity or if your child will be attending a different school within the Sumner School District.

Please call your resident school after August 26 to check on the status of your child's registration.

Thank you for your patience during this time of growth as we evaluate enrollment to best serve family needs.

Changes to Elementary School Start Times

All elementary students will begin school 5 minutes earlier every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. There will be no change to the Wednesday start time schedule.
