Remember to vote! February 9, 2010
Kindergarten Registration Week: March 1 - 5, 2010
All children enrolling for kindergarten for the 2010-11 school year must be five years old by August 31, 2010. When registering a child for school, families should bring:
- Proof of child’s birth date (birth or hospital certificate, passport);
- Immunization information and child’s health history; and
- Names and phone numbers of parents, physician, and an emergency contact.
Red Kindergarten students attend school all day on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternating Wednesdays
Blue Kindergarten students attend school all day on Thursdays, Fridays and alternating Wednesdays

Dear Victor Falls Families:
Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow on Tuesday? Will there be another six weeks of winter? Stay tuned and be prepared. It is always good to stay tuned to local news and/or call the district hotline at 253-891-6001 if you have a question about school closures. I also remind students daily they need to dress for the weather. I realize it has been unusually warm, however, it is still winter and we want students to be prepared for the weather.
Our Victor Falls Science Fair Thursday night was a huge success. Thank you to all who came to support our students’ hard work on their projects. The K-8 District Science Fair is on Saturday, February 6, at Mountain View Middle School from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. I hope you will take time to stop in and check out the work of many more of our students within the Sumner School District.
As you know, Victor Falls Elementary is being remodeled and is right on track to be ready for us to move back in over the summer. If you live in Cedar Ridge or on Crater Road, due to the boundary changes, #9 will be your home school. If you would like a waiver to attend Victor Falls Elementary, a Boundary Revision Waiver is available at our district office as well as our office. While the move is still months away, I want to make sure we are keeping you informed. If you have a question regarding this transition, please feel free to call, e-mail or drop me a note.
Don’t forget to Vote. Election day is right around the corner and ballots must be mailed on or before Tuesday, February 9. See more details in this newsletter concerning how important this levy is to our students. Please take time to vote.
