LIBRARY MEDIA RESOURCES
Our middle school libraries subscribe to a number of online resources that our students and families can access at home with an Internet connection and a password. These resources can be a great tool for helping with research projects, current events, and homework assignments.
Please check your child's binder this week for a bright library resource page that will highlight our online resources, access passwords, and guidelines for citing sources. This information can be e-mailed to families too. Our library page also has library news, links, research suggestions, calendars, and more. It is posted on our school’s district Web page, or can be reached directly at http://teachers.sumnersd.org/district/cgosselin.
We are excited to offer you library tools at home this year. If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail Cheryl Gosselin, our middle school librarian, at Cheryl_gosselin@sumnersd.org .
IT’S NOMINATION TIME
Each school year, Sumner School District accepts nominations of students in grades 2-7 whose educational needs might be best served by Sumner’s Highly Capable Program. Sumner serves students identified as highly capable in grades 3-5 in a self-contained “all day” program housed at Daffodil Valley Elementary. Middle School students attend Lakeridge or Sumner Middle School. The Middle School Highly Capable Program includes social studies, language arts, math and science.
Nomination time is November 2 – 25 and forms are available in the guidance office, or at the School District website.
There will be a parent information night on November 16, 7:00-8:30PM at Daffodil Valley Elementary. Questions? Call Tari Littlefield at 253-891-6035.
