High School Curriculum and Activities Showcase

Eighth grade students and their families should plan to attend one or both high school showcase events. These events offer a unique opportunity to better understand students’ choices for high school classes, including credit requirements, academic offerings, and electives. School counselors will meet with eighth graders after this event to review the course catalog and begin to develop high school plans.

From the Principals' Desk

Dear Families:

January certainly passed by quickly and saw the end of our first semester. Once again, our 6th grade IPA and Band delighted everyone with their performances. February looks to be another exciting month. Our boys basketball season is just beginning, and our girls soccer teams are leaving every afternoon for practice at Sumner High School.

February 9 is the last day to cast your vote for the replacement levy. Remember, the levy accounts for about 20% of our district budget. I thank you for your continued support.

Our remodeling work will begin during spring break. Our first phase of construction will focus on the 400 hallway of our school. Last week, Mrs. Jackson was the first teacher to move from the 400 hallway into a portable classroom. It is pretty exciting to think the wonderful changes we have been planning are so close to being realized. You can count on me to continue to provide more information on the remodel in the coming months.

Enjoy the remainder of this month’s newsletter!

Sincerely,

Steve Sjolund, Principal
and
Jenny Williams, Assistant Principal
