Seniors pick up eight free graduation tickets during their lunch (Running Start students may come to the Main Office during office hours). Additional tickets may be purchased from the bookkeeper at $3.00 each. A ticket is required for each guest (children under ten accompanied by an adult do not need a ticket). |

Graduation Practice: Seniors will load buses at 9:30 a.m., at the bus loop in front of Sumner High School, and travel to White River Amphitheater for graduation practice. Attendance is mandatory. Caps and gowns should not be worn at this practice. Students who do not attend this practice will not be able to take part in the graduation ceremonies on Thursday, June 11. Buses will return seniors back to Sumner High School at approximately 1:00 p.m. Seniors who have last minute check out procedures to complete should do so following practice. |

Graduation: White River Amphitheater, 7:00 p.m. Seniors who signed up during May 26 - June 5 in the Main Office for Graduation transportation, will meet in the SHS gym at 4:45 p.m. and be bused to the White River Amphitheater. They need to bring their cap and gown with them but no personal items as there is no storage available. Seniors providing their own transportation need to arrive at the White River Amphitheater no later than 5:45 p.m.
Students must dress appropriately for graduation. For boys: slacks (khakis/Dockers okay), dress shirt, nice shoes and socks. For girls: dress, skirt or dressy pants and blouse, and dress shoes or dress sandals may be worn. No athletic/tennis shoes or flip flops will be allowed. No jeans/ denim pants may be worn. The following items will not be allowed: sunglasses, flowers/leis, or any type of decoration. Parents, please review these items with your senior.
Graduation is a formal ceremony. The celebration of the event will follow the ceremony. Please acknowledge everyone’s accomplishments by acting in a respectful manner. Please be respectful so that the names of all seniors may be heard by their families. Also, please stress appropriate behavior with your senior.
Please note: Only seniors will be allowed in the staging area. Please take pictures earlier or after the ceremony so graduates may get in line promptly and have roll taken. Perler’s Photography will be taking pictures during the ceremony. They will explain picture packages to students during graduation practice earlier in the morning. (Perler’s, 770-5670)
Gates will open at 5:45 p.m. There is no reserved seating except for the box seating areas which are purchased separately. There are specific seating areas for handicapped and hearing-impaired guests and also those using video equipment. Student escorts will be available to assist these guests in making their way to their specific seating area.
8:45 p.m. (approximate) Students who signed up and paid for the “Grad Night” will board buses for this parent sponsored event. Students attending should have parents bring them a change of clothes (casual attire). Caps, gowns and graduation clothing should be sent home with parents. No bags will be allowed on grad night buses. All other graduates will need to make transportation arrangements to return after the ceremony. There is no over-night parking at the Amphitheater!!! |
June 15-19 |
Diplomas will be available in the main office. Office hours are 7:00am-3:30pm. Students must be present to pick up their diploma. The office will be closing for construction on June 22nd. |
