Sumner High School Basketball Pep Band – 2011-12
We will start the 2011-12 Sumner HS Basketball Pep Band schedule following our past format for having a mostly voluntary Basketball Pep Band.  Prior to eachperformance we will have a sign-up form with instrumentation designations. If we have enough to have a fully instrumented pep band with all parts, then the pep bands will remain voluntary (except for the full-group performances on November 29, December 16, December 17 and January 27, which are FULL-GROUP attendance because they are big games).  If we are forced to cancel any performances due to a lack of performers, we will immediately change to the Purple & Gold 2 Pep Band format with assigned instrumentation. 

Each DOUBLE-HEADER Basketball Pep Band performance will follow the following time-line
(single-Game ONLY time-schedules will be noted differently on the schedule below)

• 4:30PM Sumner HS Band Room Open (enter through the main Gym entrance in-uniform)
• 4:45PM Move to the Gym for the Performance (we will play music before the game, during some time-outs, at the ends of quarters, and at halftime if there is no other entertainment (Color Guard, Dance Team, etc.).  The full-group will take 3rd quarters “off” and will return at the end of the 3rd quarter to play until the end of the game, between games, and for a short time after the game.
• 9:00PM End of the performance (approximate)

Uniforms for all Pep Band performances will include the following:

• Purple SHS Band Polo Shirt (optional BLACK UA Cold Gear or BLACK long-sleeve T-Shirt)
• BLACK Good Jeans or Black Pants (no holes, patches, etc.)
• No hats, excessive jewelry, etc. – we look uniform
• No homework-doing, reading books, IPODs, Cell Phone use etc. – we are “into the game”
• Zero-Tolerance on this – these are public performances – I will confiscate items

Actions/Behaviors: these are very public performances – we represent SHS with POSITIVE PRIDE & CLASS

SUMNER HS BASKETBALL PEP BAND – 2010 AND 2011 SPSL BB PEP BAND OF THE YEAR

Students who participate in 10 or more performances will get a special SHS Basketball Pep Band 2012 patch for their Band Letter.  Students who participate in all of the Basketball Pep Band performances will be invited to a special pizza party at the end of the season.  Any student who makes all Pep Band performances throughout their 4 years of SHS will be given a special award at the Band Awards Dinner in June.
