Current and Future Sumner High School Band Members and Parents:

While this 2010-11 school year is starting to wind down, we’re already hard at work preparing for a very busy and exciting 2011-12 year with the Sumner High School Band Program. We can’t wait until September to start working on our music and performances, so there are some important upcoming dates in May and June of this year that you should know about to help get us and you off to a great start:

June 21 – August 13, 2011 – Sumner HS Summer Marching Band & Color Guard
We strongly encourage all current and especially incoming Sumner HS Band Program members to “stay in shape” and have a great time being a part of our 21st annual Sumner HS Summer Marching Band. This summer, we’ll be performing at several parades, including the Renton River Days Parade, the Magnolia Seafair Parade and Seattle Seafair Band Jam and Torchlight Parade, and a new performance – a BIG trip to Astoria, OR (this will be an overnight trip) August 12-13. More info on the Summer Marching Band will be available at Sumner HS and at the Middle Schools. This group will be open to all Sumner School District Middle and High School band program students and we will also welcome beginning Color Guard members, so encourage you friends to attend.

You’re going to have a lot of fun being a Sumner HS Band Program member next year, so I hope we can help to get you off to a great start with these events. See you on Wednesday May 18th at 7:00PM!
