| Senior/Culminating Project Expectations
For Full Diploma Candidates
Full Diploma candidates will be provided the opportunity to fulfill IB CAS requirements concurrent with SHS Culminating Project requirements. The senior year is a particularly demanding one for Full Diploma candidates as they will be sitting for IB examinations in May of the senior year. As a means of spacing out their graduation and IB requirements, Full Diploma candidates will make their senior project presentations in November of the senior year—drawing on three significant IB requirements to meet those expectations—the Extended Essay for the research component, their CAS collaborative project to meet the 15 hour project component, and their presentation of the Extended Essay for their speech.
- IB Full Diploma candidates will complete all SHS required paperwork components for the 15 hours designated as their senior project during advisory, which will be made up of only Full Diploma candidates on the same timeline.
- IB Full Diploma candidates will fill out a standard “Senior Project Proposal” form. Please submit to Mrs. Prestin or Ms. Messer to assure that it meets the IB CAS Collaborative Project guidelines as well. You are encouraged to begin during the summer prior to your senior year.
