| Parent support and involvement is key to success in the IB Program. IB students step up to a level of rigor and expectations that will challenge them to develop learning skills that will last a lifetime. Areas where parents would be helpful would be in the following areas.
- Tuesday Study Treats—sign up to bring cookies/treats for the on-going Tuesday after school Study Group.
- Student Rewards—students are working extraordinarily hard. This group would find small ways to recognize the efforts of these students. One idea from a parent was to solicit some of our local stores to provide a free ice cream cone, etc.
- Fundraising (for cost of exam scholarships)—exam fees for the full diploma are a total of approximately $500.00, which will be due in September of the senior year. A small fund has been established to assist in defraying this cost for students in need. There will always be a need for additional funds in this area.
- CAS community liaison—this person will interact with various community organizations such as Rotary or Kiwanis to assist students in connecting with the Sumner community to earn their CAS hours.
Please contact Chris Prestin, IB Coordinator, if you want to be involved in the IB Parent Support Group.
