More About Us

McAlder sits in a beautiful location with a view of Mt. Rainier. We like to think of ourselves as the "boutique school", with fashionable educational practices and friendly customer service (as well as the smell of Starbucks coffee in the office!). Although we are currently a "small" country school, our attendance area is one of the fastest growing with many new homes being built around us.

At McAlder we take pride in our students and we stress basic skills, positive attitudes and personal responsibility. We celebrate these qualities at Mustang of the Month Luncheons and Pride Assemblies.

We also want our students to have a variety of opportunities for personal growth, hand bell choir, vocal choir, the McAlder Morning TV News, student council, computer lab, pottery, art programs and noon time sports are all examples of ways our students can become very active McAlder Mustangs!

McAlder will be a place of cohesiveness, unity, and support among staff, parents, students, and administration in which we will use consistency and professionalism to create a positive learning environment. Our goals include improving our reading scores on a variety of district and state assessments.
