Student Activities
Maple Lawn provides a variety of before and after school activities for
students, as well as a wide range of activities during recess and lunch
times.
Students in grades K-6 are offered an opportunity to improve their reading
and writing skills in our Before School Learning Program. Through the
Parks and Recreation program we are able to offer before and after school
child care. Our beginning band program is offered before school to 5th
& 6th graders. A WASL Academy is provided for our 4th graders. A science
club was formed this year to work with students participating in the district
science fair. After school 5th and 6th graders are offered fall volleyball,
winter basketball and spring track. The Missoula Children’s Theater
sponsored by PTA, and our annual talent show offers students a chance
to shine.
During the day students may participate in Library Helpers (4th –
6th grade), and Safety Patrol (5th & 6th grade). Our student leadership
meets during lunch time and help with school pride and our annual math-a-thon
by gathering personal care items and money for our local food bank. Noontime
sports are offered to our 4th – 6th graders. With the help of PTA
we are able to provide the Washington Mutual Banking for students.
