Concert Band
Concert Band is for 8th grade band students. In this class we will continue to focus on the development of individual playing skills, with an emphasis on group performance. Performance experiences will include: formal concerts, school assemblies, concert band contest, solo & ensemble contest, honor band, parades, and elementary tour.
In getting off to a good start, you will need:
- band instrument (in good working condition)
- your Hawk Planner
- pencil
- band book: “Foundations for Superior Performance”
(if you don’t have a book by Sept. 11, you can order yours from Mr. O.
Percussion books $11.00, all other books $8.00;
Payable to “LMS” at the front office, show Mr. O the receipt.)
No weekly practice slips! Individual practice is a must to develop and improve playing skills. Students will still be expected to practice at home to prepare their music and playing tests to the best of their abilities.
