More About Us

For the 2008-2009 school year, we've seen a slight increase in our enrollment at Emerald Hills. As a result, we've been able to hold two part-time kindergarten classes as well as a full-time class. We also have two first grade classrooms, three at the second grade level, three more third grade classes, and two each at fourth and fifth grade. Emerald Hills is also the home of a Developmental Learning Center (DLC) classroom.

In addition to our classrooms teacher, the Laker staff includes a full-time music specialist, a full-time PE teacher, and two Learning Specialists for our qualifying students. Part time staff includes a Librarian, School Psychologist, Speech/Language Pathologist, Professional Development Specialist, and itinerant Occupation and Physical Therapists. Our motto for the year is "Where everybody learns" and our emphasis is on teamwork and collaboration.

Besides receiving outstanding daily instruction, our Lakers can participate in a before-school reading program, Lakers on Wheels, Science Club, an annual musical production, a variety of student jobs. Our fifth grade athletes compete with other district elementary schools in volleyball, basketball and track.
