Changes in Elementary School Start Times for the 2013-14 School Year
For the 2013-14 school year, there will be an increase in instructional hours for students in kindergarten through 5th grade to meet the state mandate of 1000 hours of instruction. This will require a change in the elementary school day, with earlier start times for students.

  • All elementary students will begin school 15 minutes earlier each day.
  • Breakfast will be served 15 minutes earlier each day.
  • The Recreation Department's Before and After School Program hours will not change.
  • New bus schedules will be posted on the Web in early July.

Early Start Elementary Schedule for Donald Eismann Elementary
Student Day: 8:30 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.
Wednesday Late Start: 10:00 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.

Office Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Register now for the 2013-14 school year: New Schedule for Red and Blue Kindergarten Classes
Beginning in September 2013, part-time kindergarten students will now attend school all day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (red kindergarten) OR all day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (blue kindergarten). The new schedule provides students with additional hours of instruction.

The District offers tuition-based, full-time kindergarten programs on a space available basis at select elementary schools. Families should contact their neighborhood school for registration information, or download a packet from the District Web site.

All children enrolling for kindergarten for the coming school year must be five years old by August 31, 2013.

Dear Explorer Families:

The Spring Carnival is here!  Join us on Saturday, May 18, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Pony rides, train rides, bouncy houses, food, BOGO book fair, games, and much more.

All first graders wore hats to school today in celebration of  'H' day in our alphabet count-down to summer.

Pastries with Parents is Tuesday, May 21, at 8:15 a.m.  Come enjoy our last morning event with your children!

Eismann Elementary is supporting Relay for Life, Relay Recess.  Be looking for the Relay Recess envelopes in Monday Folders.   Our students, teachers, and administrators have the opportunity to unite with communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has taken too many lives. During our field day events in June we will be walking and running to support the American Cancer Society.  Thank you for your participation.

Fifth grade students will be taking online MSP tests next week.  Please ensure your child is on time and well rested.  Students need to be at school all day. Thank you for scheduling appointments around these dates. Our students are ready!

  • Tuesday, May 21:  5th Grade Reading MSP
  • Thursday, May 23:  5th Grade Math MSP

Wednesday, May 22 is a student waiver day.  Students will not come to school and teachers and administrators will be participating in training at various sites throughout the district.

See you at the carnival!

Respectfully,

Susie Black
Principal, Donald Eismann Elementary School
