In the main office at Daffodil Valley Elementary in Sumner, students aren’t
shy about talking to the principal, Marcie Belfield, as if she’s
their favorite aunt.
Inside Belfield’s office, a giant stuffed bear sits in the corner.
Students have fallen asleep on that bear on bad days, she recalls, smiling.
“They’re very comfortable in my office,” Belfield said.
