VETERANS DAY PERFORMANCE
A tradition over the years at Daffodil Valley Elementary has been our salute to the armed forces. The musical performance has outgrown the Daffodil gym so this year we are at the Performing Arts Center at Sumner High School. Music instructor Matt Smeller does a fabulous job with the students in learning about our armed forces. We would like to invite everyone to this special musical on November 4 at 7:00 pm. Performers arrive at 6:30 pm. Many of our veterans show up in their uniform or a part of their uniform. We hope that you will join us. To personalize our program, I would like to include photos of our very own Daffodil Veterans in our slideshow. Email pictures to matt_smeller@sumner.wednet.edu. SAFETY FIRST
Families please use extra care in where you pick up or drop off your child at school during this winter weather. We have a designated drop off in front of the building. We have three lanes. One lane is known as the ‘kiss and go’ lane located next to the fire lane (no parking). The other lane is the ‘go’ lane. We do not drop off children in this lane. They have to walk over the other lanes to get to the sidewalk. Another dangerous area we do not allow drop off or pick up is the parking lot. We have had cars blocked or run into as the drop off car sits in the lanes behind the other parked cars. If you choose to let your child be picked up or dropped off on Daffodil Lane please walk with them across the street. Please do not park in the Buses Only area. We have had some close calls and accidents involving cars and children.
HELP US COMMUNICATE
Please keep us updated when you change phone numbers or addresses as soon as possible. We need these in times of emergencies or a miscommunication about how a student is getting home. We also have mailings from school from time to time. It is as easy as sending the changes to school in a note with your child.
