From the Principal's Desk
Dear Families,
Thank you to all of our volunteers and participants at our Fall Festival on the evening of October 9. Thanks also to our very talented cake bakers and decorators! As always they are a BIG HIT with everyone!
Although the last week of October is a week that time is set aside for conferences, I have asked teachers to make a connection with all families by December 1. You have so much to share about your child and that helps us to guide the learning for your child.
The students at Daffodil Valley are very involved in the BOOKS and BEYOND reading. Students are asked to read every night and ‘log’ the minutes they read or that someone read to them. We know that students benefit with an increased vocabulary and a better understanding of what is read if they just read MORE. If this is a problem for your child to read at home, please let us know and we have volunteers who love to read at school with students. This will also count towards their reading minutes.
The DOLPHIN CLUB afterschool program begins on October 26. It runs Monday through Thursday from 3:45 to 6:15 pm. Our new coordinator is Sara Gould. She has a lot of experience in running programs like our Dolphin Club. Please sign up in the office or call the school 253-891-4600 and we will send home an application with your child.
Thank you.
