Dear Crestwood Families:
We are thankful! As we prepare to take a short break from school for Thanksgiving, we want to express our gratitude for everyone who makes it possible for as many students as possible to come to school every day, on time, ready to learn. We thank:
- Our students and families for making daily attendance a priority since they know the habit of attendance will help them do well in the classroom and eventually in a job.
- Our wonderful teachers who pour their energy into making each classroom an exciting place for exploration and knowledge so children do not want to miss out on learning
- Our support staff and community volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our children need
We appreciate each one of you so much. We look forward to seeing you after the Thanksgiving holiday. We also hope you will keep in mind that school is closed on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 and reopens Monday, November 30, 2015.

HIV/STD Prevention Curriculum Review Night
The Sumner School District is hosting a curriculum review night allowing families the opportunity to preview HIV/STD prevention curriculum for students in grades 4-12, in addition to health and human development materials for students in grades 4 and 5.
The District has adopted the state model, KNOW HIV/STD Prevention, a comprehensive education curriculum widely used by Washington state school districts to fulfill the state's requirement for providing AIDS education to their students.
Prevention Curriculum Review Night
December 8, 2015
4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Sumner High School, Library Resource Center
All grade-level curriculum will be available for preview, including videos. This is an opportunity for parents and guardians to understand the health content at each grade level, preview teaching materials and ask questions about the resources used in the classroom.
Parents wishing to exclude their child from the HIV/STD curriculum required by our state must preview this curriculum and sign an exclusion form.
