BHS students receive aerospace scholarships

Wilson takes 42 awards at high school science fair
Students from Wilson High School in Tacoma scored big Saturday at the 11th South Sound Regional Science Fair at Pacific Lutheran University. Wilson students took five first-place awards, 10 second-place ribbons, 10 third-place and 17 honorable-mention awards.
Nearly 600 students from 86 schools in Pierce and Thurston counties participated.

The overall winner was William Edwards, an 11th-grader at Bonney Lake High School, for his study of neuro-muscular control of prosthetic devices. Tim Hurd, a senior at Sumner High School, took second for his project on geographic distribution of vector-borne pathogens.
