The “Senior
Prowler” Newsletter
This monthly newsletter is designed to highlight the “need
to know” information for the BLHS senior class. The Prowler
highlights scholarship opportunities, college admissions tips and
tricks, as well as important dates and deadlines specific to the
needs of the class of 2009. The Prowler will be posted in senior
classrooms and available for pickup in the CIC. In addition to the
Prowler, the CIC has information on scholarship opportunities for
grades 9 – 12. See Mrs. Helmold in the CIC for more information.
Culminating Senior Project: Class of 2012
We are currently in the process of streamlining the Culminating Senior Project for the Class of 2012 and beyond. With changing high school graduation requirements and the increased rigor of the High School and Beyond Plan, it is important to review Sumner School District's model for Culminating Senior Project. This program review will ensure compliance with all state requirements for graduation while assessing the broader educational experience and academic expectations for seniors.
Due to an anticipated reduction in hours required for the project portion of the Culminating portfolio, students will no longer need to exercise the Early Start option previously offered to students. Juniors will learn more information about the revised Culminating Senior Project in Advisory later this spring.
