Sumner/Bonney Lake Early Learning Linkages will continue to strengthen and create new partnerships among childcare providers, preschools, parents, Sumner School District and the community to develop an atmosphere of respect and a common continuum of learning for children.

What we do

  • Provide ongoing communication between the early learning community and the school district
  • Host annual workshop for childcare providers
  • Assist in promoting kindergarten registration and screening information

Sumner School District Early Learning Initiative

System Outcomes:

Parents and caregivers will have access to the support, information and services they need, including a variety of quality early learning opportunities for their children.

Children will enter kindergarten ready for success in school and schools will be ready for entering kindergarteners.

Community and civic support acknowledging the importance and benefits of quality early learning environments will be developed.

Our Goals:

  • Define, assess and support school readiness
  • Secure funding and resources to create a sustainable system
  • Families in the Sumner School District will have access to a continuum of support to help their child “learn to learn”
  • Support early educator professional development and competency
  • Create, increase and sustain collaboration with community partners
  • Increase opportunities for students at-risk to participate in full-day kindergarten
